Apostille for Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan Apostille is needed when one fetches a job or residence permit in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is not like other gulf countries. It accepts Apostille procedure as well. You have to follow Azerbaijan MEA Apostille procedure, however it is time-consuming and documentation is difficult as well, specifically when one requires attestation of Azerbaijan on a degree certificate. Apostille for Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan Sultanate accepts apostille of any documents or certificates. The procedure is similar as SDM apostille or HRD Apostille. It can be done on documents or certificates which can’t get HRD from concerned state.
The procedure is explained below
- On any kind of degree certificate, HRD from local secretariat is mandatory (in case of private certificates, this is not mandatory)
- Once HRD is done, Apostille from Ministry of External Affairs is accepted by Azerbaijan.
- On birth, marriage or Death certificates, local HRD is not mandatory. Also Notary Mantralaya HRD would substitute local HRD
- Then the certificate is submitted for Apostille or MEA approval
- At last, attestation will be done by Azerbaijan.
Time required for the process
- Normal procedure up to Apostille might take between 3 and 5 days
- Fast process up to Apostille might take between 2 and 3 days
- Normal procedure for Embassy Attestation is between 15 and 20 days. However, this does not include educational certificates.
- Fast procedure for Embassy Attestation might take between 10 and 15 days. However, this does not include educational certificates.
Please Note
- If Apostille is on a certificate then there is no requirement for Azerbaijan Embassy Attestation. And, in a similar way, if certificates have Azerbaijan Embassy Attestation then Apostille is not required.

Azerbaijan Apostille Attestation

When you submit certificates to MEA, it further asks for verification from the concerned universities. Verification request is sent to the university to which it has to reply. Embassy culture Department attests the documents only if it founds verification correct.
